I was happy it worked when I plugged it in. adapted a Display Port to a DVI with this, an HDMI cable and a DVI-HDMI adapter on the monitor. The image looks fine and it's priced well too.I'll only use passive adapters. If I can't make things work together that way, I won't "invest" in an active adapter that will eitehr be to $$$ or break if it's too cheap. I'd rather "invest" in new hardware that will work together.Rosewill stuff tends to fill my needs at a good price, and work for a long time.My video card was supposed to support 4 monitors through display port. I have only HDMI/DVI/VGA so I used passive adapters, but I was only getting 2 monitors to show up. Apparently, Windows only allows 2 PASSIVE monitors at once. So I needed this to convert the signal from DisplayPort to HDMI/DVI. HDMI and DVI are inherently passive. This ACTIVE adapter lets me use more than two monitors. At $8, this was the cheapest ACTIVE adapter I could find.My male DisplayPort plug's locking screws don't work in the holes on this adapter. I can't tell if they are too short and not reaching deep enough in the holes or if they just aren't compatible with the threading. But the connection is tight enough that I'm not worried about it. Also works perfectly and was a HUGE lifesaver for me & my ancient, motherboard port-hogging tablet. Definitely recommend.As an IT instructor with an older laptop this has been a life saver. Some places I go only have HDMI for the projection system and my old laptop doesn't have that as a video out. With this simple and inexpensive connector in my bag I'm all set. I don't leave home without it!I bought this for my Surface Pro 4 and works seamlessly and as expected.Plugged it in. It was immediately recognized and worked.Does what its supposed to. Had to mess with Windows 10 a bit to get it to work, but seems fine now.Excellent product. I mainly purchased this because My motherboard does not supply a VGA Connector (New motherboard that's using DVI-I Connector). So this product is good to buy if you have any DVI-I and want to convert to VGA. Shipping was great and order came on time. It provided me with extra slack incase I have to move my monitor. This product is Male DVI-I to VGA Male. All monitors by default have Female VGA which is what I just found out. I would recommend this product.Exactly what I needed. Arrived on time and working perfectly. This item allows my wife to use two monitors at the same time for her work at home job which is a great convenience and time saver for her.
